Sandra Mendell was named ‘Pro Bono Volunteer of the Year’ for 2020 by the Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law, a non-profit organization based in Los Angeles that provides free family law counseling and legal services to low income persons in California.
“I am incredibly grateful to be recognized and to feel the joy and satisfaction that I got from standing up for what was right,” says Mendell who has been a volunteer for the organization since 2018.
She added, “Thank you to the Buhai Center for giving me the opportunity to do this meaningful and important work and for providing me with all of the logistical support that I needed. For any of my peers who may be considering volunteering, I urge you to do it – you will be glad you did!”
